Hi, Iβm Sierra. I build systems β digital, educational, emotional, and physical.
This isnβt a traditional portfolio. Itβs a space that reflects how I think, what Iβm building, and how I approach problems.
Some things are polished. Some are still in progress. Both matter.
I don't think of myself as someone who has one career.
I'm a creator.
Sometimes that means building software. Sometimes it means writing a book, designing a website, teaching engineering, or sketching out an idea that won't exist for another five years.
What ties it all together is that I enjoy solving problems and creating things that make someone's life a little easier.
I care about thoughtful design, systems that make sense, and technology that feels approachable instead of overwhelming.
Whether I'm building an app, planning a lesson, or launching a new project, I'm usually asking the same question:
"How can this work better for the people using it?"
Outside of work, I'm usually learning something new. Lately that's been Three.js, but there's almost always another framework, idea, or rabbit hole waiting after that.
I also have an unhealthy habit of buying domain names because every interesting idea somehow deserves its own website.
Sierra Space isn't meant to be a polished corporate portfolio.
It's a snapshot of what I'm building, what I'm learning, and where my curiosity happens to be taking me.
Thanks for stopping by.

Not everything I build lives in a code editor.
Some ideas take shape through software. Others take shape through land, long-term planning, and projects that exist well beyond a computer screen.
Lee Holdings Group is where I explore development from a different perspective. It's slower than software, but that's part of what makes it interesting. Every decision has a longer timeline and a lasting impact.
Working in both worlds has taught me that good planning, thoughtful design, and patience matter no matter what you're building.
If you're curious about that side of my work, you can explore it below.
Why Is This a Meeting?
Meetings don't have to waste timeβbut too many of them do.
I wrote Why Is This a Meeting? after spending years watching teams sit through meetings that could have been emails, Slack messages, or five-minute conversations.
The book introduces the TCAP Method, a simple framework for deciding whether a meeting should happen in the first place and how to make the ones that do actually worth everyone's time.
It's practical, honest, and written for people who are tired of pretending every calendar invite is necessary.
What's Next?
I don't think this will be my last book.
I enjoy writing about work, education, technology, psychology, and the little frustrations people experience but rarely talk about.
Safe to say... this bookshelf isn't staying this empty for long.
